Visual Arts Cooperative Dual Gallery Exhibition

The Visual Arts Cooperative Committee is a collaborative of visual artists from the Southeast Missouri Region, which also operates as a committee on the board of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri. As a cooperative, artists are responsible for more than submitting work on a monthly basis – they are members of teams that install artwork, greet guests at opening receptions, volunteer at major events, and host weekly workshops like Drawing Group. Each month, these artists have new work available for sale in the Visual Arts Cooperative Gallery. The VAC artists also have an "Art in Miniature" display where visitors are able to purchase smaller works, such as greeting cards or handmade jewelry. This May, the Visual Arts Cooperative will be showing in the AC SEMO and VAC Gallery. This annual dual gallery show is a true celebration of the wonderful regional artists involved in this cooperative.

Everyone Belongs Under the Sun

In celebration of the 2024 Eclipse, artists were invited to to submit work considering how cosmic events impact cultural change, and our place in the universe in personal, regional, national, and international regards. This exhibition was part of eclipse events taking place across the City of Cape Girardeau, under the direction of the Arts Council. Its intent was to use the power of this cosmic event to create cultural advancement in rural communities along the path.
