First Friday with the Arts is a community-centered event that takes place on the First Friday of every month from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Established in 2003, First Friday with the Arts is an event initiated by local galleries to encourage residents of the Southeast Missouri region to further engage in the arts. Many of the galleries and First Friday businesses located in and around Downtown Cape Girardeau participate in the monthly event by staying open for later hours, hosting artist receptions, or offering fun activities and events.
“There are no rules or instructions on how to participate. Start First Friday at your favorite business or gallery, or at one you've never been before! Then make your way to explore what other locations may be offering!”
