Here at 16 N. Spanish Street we take pride in our diverse gallery spaces! Our AC SEMO Gallery houses brand new exhibitions each month. From solo exhibitions of artists across the country to celebrations of our regional artists and community, there is always something beautiful occupying our space. We also host annual exhibits such as the Children’s Arts Festival and Juried Regional Show which are continually crowd favorites.

The Visual Arts Cooperative Committee is a juried cooperative of visual artists from the Southeast Missouri Region, working as a committee of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri. Each artist is able to display one piece of original artwork for sale each month of the year with a special spring exhibit featuring three pieces. Each month two artists are also selected to showcase work in the VAC Gallery window. Additionally, member artists sell multiple “minis,” or artwork that is between 8" and 10" and priced underneath $75.

As a cooperative, artists are responsible for more than submitting their work – they are members of teams that install work, greet guests at opening receptions, and support one another.

Artists interested in joining the VAC can apply online by submitting 6 digital images of recent work. Resumes and artist statements are encouraged, but not required.

Even though the official application process starts in July each year, we encourage you to fill out an application at any point in the year so you will be in contact with a current VAC member!

VAC members would love to speak to you during our opening receptions on every First Friday of the month from 5:00pm-8:00pm at the Arts Council!

Our Micro Galleries may be small in size but they pack a punch when it comes to showing work! If you have a smaller collection you would like to show, these spaces transform into beautiful saturated galleries.
