JURORS STATEMENT “This year’s Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition is a collection of varying themes, unique forms, and diverse artists. Each sculpture is, in it’s own way, an exploration and celebration of physical space. Whether it’s the expansive protrusions of Nathan Pierce’s Longshot, the dense constructed aggregate of Mike Baur’s Dance, the upward growing conglomerate of Sarah Deppe’s Lacuna, or the proud negative space of James K. Johnson’s Flint Hills Dreamer, the sculptures together create a unified texture along Cape Girardeau’s Broadway Corridor – a texture that is rich, honest, and earthy. Selecting such a cohesive and dynamic exhibition of such quality artists has truly been an honor and delight.”
